Can the Retroid Pocket Duo play 3DS games?

Yes, and most games run at full speed above native resolution.

Azahar is the emulator reviewers use. Mario Kart 7 held 60 fps at 3× for Gardiner Bryant and stayed around 59 to 60 fps at 4× for 卡纸biubiu. Ocarina of Time 3D looked and ran well at 4×, and WULFF DEN found Pilotwings Resort and Kirby: Planet Robobot close to full speed.

The heavier games need lower settings. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and Luigi's Mansion 2 are demanding enough that Gardiner Bryant suggests dropping to 2×, and Super Mario 3D Land dipped from 60 to about 45 fps at 3× on the stock driver. Retro Game Corps settles on 2× as a default that leaves headroom.

Hardware shaders add speed in some games but break others: in Pokémon Ultra Sun they turn Pokémon into outlines, so switch them off for that game. Expect short stutters the first time shaders compile.

Tested on other handhelds

None of these were tested on a Duo, and the results are the reviewer's impressions rather than measured frame rates.
